Ambroxol HCL is a drug which is used for the healing of respiratory related to viscid or extreme mucus. It is used in the preparation of Mucosolvan, Lasolvan, Surbronc, etc. to name a few. It has properties that of secretolytic and secretomotic actions which are useful for clearing the respiratory track. It is even used in the preparation of cough syrup, makes the patient breath liberally and intensely.
The surfactant which is released by synthesis plays the role of anti-glue. It reduces the sticking of mucus to the bronchial wall and is a defence for infection and agents which cause irritation.
The Ambroxol HCL should be used with cautious when experiencing lung disorder, kidney failure, and stomach ulcer. It is even used as pain relief in case of acute sore throat and the reason of the acute sore throat is usually because of a viral infection. Though the infection is for some time, it causes pain while the patient is swallowing food.
Ambroxol hcl is highly prohibited when a women is in the first trimester of pregnancy. In some cases, it may even cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, digestive disorders, a life-threatening skin disorder called Stevens-Johnson syndrome, allergy and others.
It should be stored at a temperature which is beyond 30 degrees Celsius.
